Why self care is important.


We all get overwhelmed by something be it school,work or parenting etc and if we forget to take care of ourselves we might end up getting frustrated and often feel like giving up.Most people feel like self care is a selfish habit because most of us grew up believing that the more you sacrifice,the bigger the reward.And the saying "hard work pays off" well it's true but it's easy to take it too far,to the point that your abilities get worn,your skills aren't as sharp,you lose focus.

  You might think you're working hard,and maybe you are in some ways,but you're not working efficiently.And at times we may feel like taking time to hang out with friends or just have a good time is a luxury.Well that mindset backfires.Self care helps you make good progress because:

i).Self care prevents "burnout":You push yourself too hard that you reach a point when you just can't take anymore and you end up giving up.Well self care helps to prevent you from reaching that point.

ii).Self care reduces negative stress effects:Taking care of yourself means keeping your stress from taking over so you can function at full capacity.

iii).Helps you learn how to love yourself:Loving yourself is by far one of the most important things you can do for yourself.Loving yourself helps you know your worth,it also helps you love others,because you can't give what you don't have.

  Self care is good for you and you shouldn't feel guilty for taking care of yourself.Self care includes a lot of aspects.It includes your well being physically,mentally and emotionally.

Embracing negativity.

Problems will always be a part of our lives and running away from them is the worst decision.Remember that opposites attract and negativity has to exist in order to have positivity.What we really need to do is look into how we can take care when the negativity kicks in.So I'm not here to tell you what to do and what not,I'm gonna tell you some of the things that I do to treat the negative days.

   Listen to music that will put you in the mood you want to be in. Don't wallow in being negative all alone listen to music and dance it off I do that often and it helps a lot.
 
   Embrace the negativity,accept that it's part of your life you don't have to be perfect to be happy.I always tell myself "No matter how sad I am there's someone going through exactly what I'm going through and they just pretend better than I do."

   Talk to someone,well I rarely talk about how I feel it's  kind of hard and if you're like me I get it.But try to talk to people well not just anyone "while making followers on your social media make sure to make friends you'll need them" someone once told me that and guess what it made total sense.

    It's not permanent every situation is temporal remember that.You won't feel negative all the time and don't do things you'll regret later because when you're not in the right mind you'll make decisions that you probably wouldn't make when you're in your right

YOU WONT ALWAYS FEEL GOOD BUT REMEMBER YOU'RE HUMAN.

5 Countries I want to visit in Africa.

   Well I'm Zambian from the eastern part of Zambia to be specific but based in Lusaka the capital city. I've lived my life in Zambia and I do appreciate it's beauty for example it's wild life, vegetation, lakes,rivers and most of all the mighty Victoria falls. So I won't include Zambia on my top five countries but you should if you haven't been to Zambia.

Why There's Happiness In Being Content.

Being content is being satisfied with your present situation.




Well being content is a state,it's ongoing.Happiness on the other hand is a moment.Contentment is about peaceful satisfaction.But this doesn't mean that you shouldn't dream big.Continue to set goals and work towards them.Just remember to enjoy the journey and not rush to make it happen.

3 WAYS TO FEEL CONTENT WITH YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW.
#1.Focus on your strengths.
      I believe everyone of us has something to offer.Something we're extremely good at.Focusing on this will even strengthen your strengths more,because you will feel satisfied and have something good to offer and feel proud of yourself.Most of all you will feel content.
#2.Gratitude.
      Gratitude journals are simply diaries that you fill out at the end of the day.It starts from recognizing the small things people do for us each day,be it small as someone giving you way to pass or someone smiling at you.It's a helpful reminder of all you have to be thankful for.
If you aren't into diaries then here is a tip for you:
Make a gratitude jar instead.Write something you're grateful for on a small piece of paper and fill up your jar with one paper or more everyday and take time to read the papers every time you're having a bad day.

#3.Mindfulness.

      Yes living in the moment.It means taking a few minutes out of your day to focus on exactly where you are,what you're doing and how that feels to promote a sense of contentment.

Being content brings happiness because you won't dwell on what you don't have and to be happy you need to appreciate and accept the situation at hand and dwell on what you have and work hard for what you don't.

If you want more from your life,more happiness,deeper relationships and increased productivity.Then this is for you.Being grateful can benefit no one else but you.
  It benefits you emotionally,socially,personalityxamd career wise.

Gratitude:
1).Makes us happier.
A gratitude journal can increase your well being.All you need is five minutes, a journal and a pen.Gratitude improves our health,relationships,emotions,personality,and career.And having improved these aspects of our lives makes us happier.

2).Boosts our career.
Gratitude makes you more effective,helps you network,increases your decision making capabilities and it increases your productivity.As a result it helps you achieve your career goals and makes your workplace a more friendly and enjoyable place to be.

3).Makes us positive or optimistic.
Gratitude is correlated with optimism.Optimism in turn makes us happier,improves our health,and has been shown to increase our life span.A five minute a day gratitude journal is really worth it,don't you think?

4).Makes people like us.
Gratitude makes us nicer,more trusting, more social,and more appreciative.As a result,it helps us make more friends,deepen our existing relationships,and improve our marriage.

  Creating a network of meaningful relationships is essential.And when you establish deep connections with the right individuals,it enables you to have a greater impact and creates endless possibilities.
 
  Well creating or establishing these relationships and networks doesn't happen overnight.And it doesn't begin with others but it all begins with you.So here are a few things you can start doing to build deep relationships and a network that will lead you to success.

Focus On A Few Relationships.

It is pointless to have a lot of connections that are shallow and meaningless.Instead it is better to focus on having truthful and sincere relationships because these will take you much further than having a lot of shallow relationships.

Be Able To Give.

In meaningful relationships each individual should be focused on offering value to the other person.Your goal should be to give,not received.

Listen.

Listening when one is speaking shows how much you genuinely care about a person.This builds trust over time,it's also important to listen if you want to give the right advice or feedback.

Clap For Your Peers.

Ain't it great to have someone congratulate you for your accomplishments?Now think of how your peers would feel if you congratulate them for their accomplishments.This will help create positivity on both ends.

Have Respect.

No matter how well you know someone.always treat others with respect.You never know who that person knows;so,always being respectful leads to your having a good reputation.

Why assertiveness is smart.
Assertiveness is a way of behaving and communication that is based on acceptance of oneself and of other people.
    When you behave assertively,you are open and honest without hurting or diminishing others.This behaviour is smart because it shows a high degree of self awareness and self-knowlegde and a willingness to engage honestly with other people.
